It’s the Little Things

I wanted to give you a little quick story on how I got this listing.

The sellers had an agent that they’d worked with in the past to buy this property. They reached out to him for a referral for a contractor and this gentleman blew them off and said that he didn’t have any referrals for them. However, he was always reaching out for the last few years about getting this property for a listing. But, they needed him years prior to get work done and just wanted a referral for a contractor and he couldn’t even provide that.

If you don’t have a contractor in your database, you’re in the wrong business. So, they called me. I reached out and got them a contractor. They got the work done.

About a year later, we sat down and discussed listing this property. This was a costly mistake for this past agent because this property’s closing for $3.2 million. And just for not having a referral or taking the time to get a referral, he’s losing out.

I hope it’s a big learning lesson.
