When 5 p.m. hits on a Friday, there’s nothing you want more than to grab a drink and unwind. Thankfully, many bars and restaurants have happy hour specials, offering discounted food and drinks from 5-7 p.m. Here are some of the best places for happy hour in San Jose and Silicon Valley.
Sundance The Steakhouse
Visit this Palo Alto hotspot Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. for one of the best happy hours in the area. Enjoy draft beers and house wines for only five bucks. Cocktails ordered off the happy hour menu won’t cost you more than $7. Munch on delicious $8 appetizers, like filet mignon spring rolls and tempura gulf prawns.
SP2 Communal Bar and Restaurant
If you’re looking for a trendy, after-work watering hole, SP2 Communal Bar and Restaurant is the place for you. They offer great cocktails and locally sourced American bistro cuisine. Happy hour lasts from 3-7 p.m., giving you plenty of time. Enjoy $4 bottled beers, $5 drafts and house wines, $6 wells and $6 select cocktails. Food off the happy hour menu is all $6, and includes chicken and waffles, parmesan truffle fries, and truffle basil popcorn. They have a great open patio for those beautiful California evenings.
The Old Wagon Saloon and Grill
The Old Wagon Saloon and Grill is bringing a little bit of Texas and the old west to the Bay Area. Decorated like an old-time saloon, the Old Wagon has food, drinks, outdoor seating, a live music stage and an outdoor screen for movies once the sun goes down. Happy hour lasts from 3-6 p.m. every day. Order a normal 12 oz. pint of beer or a 34 oz. stein if you’ve had a particularly rough week. Five-dollar wells and an array of finger foods will keep everyone happy. You can also order off the dinner menu, which has delicious burgers and BBQ ribs.
