The Smart First-Time Buyer Checklist

[Stephen Husted] (0:00 - 0:37)

If I was a first-time home buyer and I couldn't buy new construction, this is what I would look for in purchasing a home. I would want the roof, plumbing, electrical, HVAC all in working order, fairly new if possible. Because kitchen and bathrooms, you can remodel those and you're going to get a lot more joy out of doing that than having to replace plumbing, electrical, or roof.

Those are like the non-sexy items. So if I were going to focus on purchasing, I want those big ticket items completed so that I can get my vision together on doing the kitchen, the bathrooms, and the floors, the things that really matter to me.
