Has this ever happened to you? So I got an issue with my car right now. I brought it into an auto shop and they said that I needed a part with $600.
They needed to order it through the Jeep dealership. So I proceeded to go online right in front of them and looked for that part number. And they said, hey, if you do an aftermarket, it's going to break the warranty, blah, blah, blah.
So I called the dealership. The part was 400. The automotive shop was going to charge me 600.
I went and found the part for $57 on eBay and shipped it to my house. And now I'm going to have the automotive shop install it. But it's just crazy.
The price gouging is insane. And I think most people will just deal with it and they don't want to be bothered. And it probably was not the best use of my time, but I figured, why not?
Let me see if I can save some money. I did. And now it's time to bring it back in and have them install the part that I found for cheaper.
