Block Out the Noise and Understand the Market

[Stephen Husted] (0:00 - 0:59)

The housing market is very unique right now in a lot of different ways. You know, we got higher interest rates. Everybody knows that.

The market pricing hasn't gone down. It's making it so that it's you're paying more for a home and you've got a higher interest rate. It's just this really strange market.

But every market has its unique challenges. From what I've experienced over the years, I remember back in 2008 through 2011-12, the housing market had crashed. Buyers would buy a home.

Then the neighbor would put their house on the market and sell it for 100 grand less than what they bought it for. So that market was very unique and had a lot of challenges. People were upset about the way that the market was going.

But it's interesting enough, the buyers that bought then made a ton of money in the market because the market turned around. And so markets always are different. They're always moving in different directions.

And all you have to do is try to adapt to it and get in. Try to block out the noise that you hear from the news to your friends. There's a lot of different factors that can play in that can make you stop from wanting to buy a house.

But at the end of the day, to buy a home, you have to afford to buy a home. It doesn't really matter what market we're in.
